This 8-hour workshop brings to life the practice of the concepts of Toyota Kata.

About this event

  • What are the unseen managerial routines and thinking that lie behind Toyota’s success with continuous improvement and adaptation?
  • How can your company develop similar routines and thinking in your organization?

The Improvement Kata: A scientific 4-step iterative PDCA or experiment driven routine that addresses only those obstacles that lie on the path of a trajectory that leads to the achievement of short-term Target Conditions that are in line with a long-term Vision/Challenge.

The Coaching Kata: A daily routine that utilizes 5 Toyota Kata Questions to help teach the Improvement Kata thinking pattern and ensure that it is imbedded within an organization via team accountability.

Participants will leave this fun, hands-on workshop with a functional knowledge of the principles of Toyota Kata, being utilized by high performance firms around the world to adapt to the ever-changing environments we work in today. Our Leader Standard Kata (LSK) helps leaders achieve future Challenges. The program facilitates “purpose-driven-activity” above and beyond normal daily duties. In so doing, companies achieve their future states by breaking through the “business-as-usual” mode and begin their true CI journeys with a new confidence. With the Improvement Kata Experience (IKE) you will learn coaching as an introduction to how world class organizations develop Managers and Supervisors as coaches of this process.

Benefits of Toyota Kata: Organizations that deploy Toyota Kata benefit from an increased ability to effectively communicate Vision & Strategy throughout all levels of the organization, establish a clear understanding of Current Conditions, define short-term Target Conditions, practice the Improvement Kata, and develop managers as coaches through the routines of Coaching Kata.
